Fitness Chick
Hi, I’m Kelly and I am a workout and healthy eating nutter. I have always been reasonably fit and in my younger years I played various sports such as Netball, Field Hockey and Women’s Rugby! I also represented my county in race walking and cross country!!!
Having children and putting myself at the bottom of the things to do made me pack on the lbs and inches. In 2006, after years of treading water and walking around the gym without direction I decided to take control of my body.
At that point I started Body for Life, I consider Body for Life a great starting point, it teaches you the basics of weight lifting and also how to fuel your body properly. I am now very aware of what i eat and how to exercise, i am now starting to move away from wanting to exercise in the traditional gym setting and preferring to workout at home using basic gym equipment and my own body weight.
I have 2 children and I strive everyday to make sure they eat the best food possible. Over the years I have become a master at disguising food and I always sneak extra fruit and vegetables into their meals. Our children are our pride and joy, we love exploring and experiencing new things with them. I have a wonderful boyfriend and we have been together for 16 years! He is a great inspiration to me, and we got fit together in order to keep up with our children and be great role models to them. He also is a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Can Ryu Jiu-Jitsu.
To finish off our family we have 2 dogs, one is an Australian Kelpie and the other is a Dalmatian. They have wonderful personalities and the bring us much joy.
They are a great motivation to us even in the dead of winter when you really don’t want to go outside but you know that they need their walk.
When you finally get out and take in the breath taking scenery where we live you know that having a frozen nose is worth it! Plus we tend to walk as a family and it’s a great time for us all to catch up while we are walking. Have a look at my blog, I try to give no nonsense advice, and take constructive criticism well.
