Feeling awesome
Posted in Cardio Training on 01/06/2009 11:00 am by adminIt feels great to be back on track with not only the exercise but the eating part too. Yes i have the headaches but I know that it will pass in a couple of days.
As much as I love having my girls home from school, it was nice this morning packing them off and getting to the gym at my regular time and coming home to a quiet house, I don’t know how I have managed to get my studying in but I have and last nights study session showed me that I am ready for the exam. Yes I am still worried about the anatomy part but i know that I will be able to figure out the answers.
Today at the gym i ran my intervals by 1 min high and 2 mins recovery, my high speed was 10 mph. Then I did 3 sets of 15 box jumps 20″ and 15 35lb Kettlebell swings. Great workout and done in just under 30 minutes.
What a nightmare trip, I had to drive to a small town just outside of Calgary, but I had to get there in rush hour, the 60km trip took me just under 2 hours to get to, and only 45 minutes to get home. To say I was going crazy sat in my car was an understatement.
I took a pretty cool picture of the Chinook arch from my cell phones camera.
Wikipedia definition -
Chinook winds, often just called chinooks, commonly refers to foehn winds[1] in the interior West of North America, where the Canadian Prairies and Great Plains meet various mountain ranges, although the original usage is in reference to wet, warm coastal winds in the Pacific Northwest.[2]
Chinook is a Pacific Northwest Indian word meaning ’snow-eater’[3], as a strong Chinook can make snow one foot deep almost vanish in one day. The snow partly melts and partly evaporates in the dry wind. Chinook winds have been observed to raise winter temperature, often from below −20°C (−4°F) to as high as 10°C to 20°C (50°F to 68°F) for a few hours or days, then temperatures plummet to their base levels. The greatest recorded temperature change in 24 hours was caused by Chinook winds on January 15, 1972, in Loma, Montana; the temperature rose from -48°C (-56°F) to 9°C (49°F).

As you can see it is a very welcoming thing when we have been in the deep freeze a few days of above zero certainly helps you cope with the long Winter.
